Gumpert Apollo Sport Sets New ‘Ring Record'

German sportscar maker and motorsports company, Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur has set a new production car lap record at the famed Nurburgring circuit in its Apollo Sport supercar.

The Gumpert Apollo Sports driven by world touring car championship driver, 26 year old, Florian Gruber set a lap time of 7m 11.57 seconds.

The midtier of Gumpert’s Apollo line of supercar models, the car was powered by Audi sourced 4.2 Litre V8 with twin turbochargers developing 700 bhp, enough to power the car from 0-124 mph in just 8.9 seconds.

Apollo Sport comes with a tabular space frame made from chrome-molybdenum steel with integrated safety monocoque in carbon fiber. The body also consists of huge air intakes on the roof and side panels to feed cool air to the massive mid engine twin turbo engine.

The Sport edition also gets full aero package which includes front and rear spoilers and GT rear wing and some road going comforts such as Alcantara Interiors, Air conditioning, CD Player, Sat Nav and even a reverse camera!

The list price for the Apollo Sport is €299,500 ($423,167) without applicable taxes.
