Raging Bull’s Next: Next Gen Murcielago

rendered speculation next gen lamborghini murcielago

Auto Express reports that these pictures give us the “best look yet” at how the next generation Murcielago may look when it is released in 2012.

The still unnamed Lambo will be longer and wider (yup you read it right!) and lighter than the current Murcielago. The car will use Audi’s aluminium spaceframe design and combine it with carbon fibre body shell making it lighter and much more rigid. With an expected output of 700 bhp from the 6.0 Litre V12 engine and less weight, the new Murcielago will decimate the 0-100 kph sprint in around 3 seconds!

Design wise the new Lamborghini will combine the best elements from the Gallardo and Reventon up front with a dashing of Estoque at the back. Changes upfront include a pronounced spoiler and fresh new headlamps with multilevel LED lights ala 458 Italia but the biggest changes are at the back. Designers have moved the Murci’s trademark angular exhaust closer to the ground while the new strip like Estoque’esque replace the current squarish units.

Four wheel drive system will be retained to ensure absolute stability under any conditions. It will also be Lamborghini’s first car to make use of efficient technologies like Stop-Start and brake energy regeneration.

The prototypes of the new Lambo have already been spied doing rounds at the Nurburgring track but its unlikely to arrive before 2012. Its also likely to spearhed Lamborghini bosse’s plans to deliver their first ever hybrid by 2015.
