SCOOP: Royal Enfield To Launch Bullet Classic In India

“Either you love it or you hate it” has been true for every Bullet launched in India. While the brand affectionados love the thump and macho image, there are others who depise the reliability and last centuary technology.

While there is truth to the stuff people from both sides say, there is one Bullet which almost everyone loved and its the Bullet Classic 500 EFi which was unveiled by Royal Enfield at the Cologne International Bike Show. Utterly gorgeous and beautiful this bike with its old world style, charm and charisma stole many a hearts including the most staunch haters of the brand. But then Royal Enfield then dropped a bummer saying it would not be launched in India, dissapointing even the hardcore supporters of the brand.

Now comes the good part. Bike India reader has sent these pictures of the Bullet Classic clicked at one of the authorized workshops. The Indian version according to the mag may be launched at the upcoming Auto Expo in January 2010.

Expected to sport a price tag of Rs 1.4 Lakhs, the bike will come with the same 500cc unitary construction engine with electronic fuel injection developing a maximum power of 27.2 bhp and a massive for an Indian bike, 41.2 nm of maximum twist @ 4000 rpm! The engine is good enough for a top whack of 130 kmph and crusing speed of 100-110 kmph all day long without breaking into a sweat.

The bike being shown to selected customers in Bangalore for feedback also had two different exhausts as well as two different seating positions. Keep your eyes on your nearest Royal Enfield showroom as reports also say that test bikes are currently doing rounds in cities like Delhi, Pune, Chennai etc! There are a lot of good reasons to be affiliated with groups such as AAA. Nokia Reveals S60-powered Nokia 6730 classic

Nokia announced their latest smartphone handset, running as usually on the S60 OS. Providing decent mid-range functionality, the Nokia 6730 classic will be an exclusive offering for Vodafone customers around the world.
Mobile internet, Vodafone Music Client and personal and business email access along with mobile navigation capabilities are all included in the Nokia 6730 classic. The device utilises S60 software which means customers can easily download their choice of additional applications from the web.
The most notable features of the phone are its Symbian S60 3rd edition UI and the built-in GPS with A-GPS support. There is also a 3.2 megapixel autofocus snapper onboard as well as FM radio, Bluetooth and USB. A microSD card slot takes care of extending the 48 MB of internal memory.
The quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE Nokia 6730 classic comes with a 2.2″ 16M color display of QVGA resolution. The high-speed network connectivity is also taken care of with dual-band UMTS with both HSDPA and HSUPA support onboard. Unfrotunately, Wi-Fi is not available.

Nokia officially launched last week a new tough handset with the moniker of the 3720 Classic, which has been designed to withstand more than its fair share of punishment.
Following the footsteps of Nokia’s highly popular ‘rugged‘ cell phones of the past, the Nokia 3720 classic handset is encased in durable materials and is entirely sealed to protect the inner electronics. Thus, Nokia 3720 classic cell phone features a sealed, leak-proof design and durable materials that come in a veritable rainbow of colours. According to the Finland Company, this mobile phone is the most resistant from their range, but in terms of hardware specifications and soft it does not excel. The phone comes with less than remarkable features like a 2-megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom , GPS, 16M colors, S40 OS, 25MB internal memory, a 1GB microSD card, FM radio, preloaded Nokia Maps, a LED flashlight and, as expected, a long-lasting battery with over 2.5 weeks standby time. But then again this phone is made to withstand outrageous conditions so smartphone-like features will not be found in the 3720 Classic. The large and bright 2.2″ QVGA cell phone display is perfect for following the route even in unfamiliar terrain.
Therefore, Nokia 3720 Classic it’s the kind of product that you can hit walls with, then pick it up and call your girlfriend to tell her you have now became a peaceful and calm man. It’s the gadget you can use as fish bait. It’s the rough mobile phone that only Chuck Norris can destroy.
The 3720 Classic is due to retail for €125 before taxes or subsidies and is expected to begin shipping this summer.
