Intel shows wireless power broadcasting system

Intel has made dramatic progress in a technology that could lead to the wireless recharging of gadgets and the end of the power-cord spaghetti behind electronic devices.

A number of wireless power systems have been shown earlier but unlike the earlier ones which required special connectors and the devices to actually touch the power source, this new system developed by intel transmits power over the air - about 60 watts power over 3 feet, at 75% power efficiency.

I think the day is not far away when we have wireless charging hot spots (just like wi-fi hotspots) where we can charge our laptops and other gadgets...Its a huge step towards a completely wireless world!!
